Welcome to DayGuide. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in our app. We believe in transparency and protecting your privacy.
DayGuide stores the following information locally on your device only:
The DayGuide app does not collect any analytics, tracking, or usage data. Your usage patterns, completion rates, and activity details remain completely private and local to your device.
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Google Play under Google's Privacy Policy. We never see your card or payment details. To unlock Premium, the app sends the purchase's code from Google Play to our server, which asks Google Play whether it is genuine and when a subscription is paid up to. Nothing else is sent, and the code is not stored.
Free days: so the 14 free days can't be restarted by reinstalling, the app sends our server your phone's Android ID (a code Android gives each app, which can't be used to identify you or link you across other apps). The server stores only a one-way scrambled version of it with the date your free days began, and nothing else.
Both use our Google Firebase server, reached with a random anonymous account the app creates, which is not linked to your name, email or anything you enter in the app.
Our website, day-guide.com, uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages and links are useful. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location (country or city), your device and browser type, the site that referred you, and clicks on our Google Play links. We do not use this to identify you, and it is not linked to anything in the app.
You can opt out by blocking cookies in your browser or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google handles this data under Google's Privacy Policy.
We also keep our own simple visit counts, so we can see how many people read each page. These use no cookies and do not store your IP address. For each visit we record the page, the site that referred you, your approximate country, your device type (phone, tablet or computer), and an anonymous code that changes every day, so a visitor is counted once per day without us being able to recognise anyone. These counts are deleted after about 13 months.
If you use From your calendar, DayGuide asks for permission to read your phone's calendar. It reads your upcoming events (title, time and location) only to list them on your device, so you can choose which ones get "time to get ready" and "time to leave" nudges.
DayGuide can suggest small changes to a reminder, such as a better time, based on when you have actually completed it. These suggestions are worked out entirely on your device from your own history. Nothing is uploaded, and a suggestion only changes a reminder if you choose to apply it.
All data is used solely for app functionality on your device:
We do not share any data from the app with third parties. The only outside services involved are Google Play, which handles purchases, Google Firebase, which runs the purchase and free-day checks, and Google Analytics on our website, as described in section 2.
Accountability Partners is not available yet. No information is sent to anyone through it. We will update this policy before it launches, to explain exactly what is shared and how you control it.
All data is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms provided by your operating system. We implement:

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date.
